I just wanted to share this video with everyone (no one??) that reads my blog. I had already liked the song as it was, but the video was fucking rad and to top it off the burly man with the wicked stache was the new Jason Voorhees.

I started re-reading some of my old comics and I’ve decided to make a list of my 10 favorite comics. To give a little background to this, I used to work for Atomic Comics, a very large and very awesome, as a General Manager of their flagship store.
I worked there for almost 5 years. Two years I was a manager. Prior to working at Atomic I had almost no knowledge of comics. I knew about the 90s’ X-Men cartoon, I knew about JTHM, Ultimate X-Men, and that was really about it. Suffice to say, I learned about everything that could have been awesome in that time. I probably learned more about comics than guys that had been reading comics for many years longer than me, but hey, I had free access to comics almost 24/7.
I haven’t been on top of things since I left Atomic. I’ve really slacked on comic book reading, but the 10 listed below comics are the ones that I still do my best to keep up on or often re-read if they are a concluded series. There will be a few honorary mentions at the bottom as well.

A desperate chill was in the air, filling the room with an unknown sense of dread – or so he thought.
Alex knew it was just his imagination working up, there was no real reason to be nervous and continuously glance over his shoulder, but he did so sporadically anyway. He feared a glance would produce a shadow darting across the door frame and into another room or that maybe, just maybe, his paranoia would pay off in the worst way possible and there would be a frightening figure in the doorway staring at him.
Music was thumping from the stereo, but randomly Alex would decrease the volume to listen for sounds he thought he heard but that were never there in the first place. He couldn’t decide if it was better to not hear the sounds of the house and be surprised if he was attacked or hear it and wait in a state of panic while the intruder sought him out – but there was never an intruder.

This is a scene I wrote to start off a comic I’m working on. I figure now is as good a time as any to get it out there. I hope you enjoy it as it’s literally the first written piece I’ve put into public view.
A man scrambles out of bed strategically attempting to untangle himself from the comfort of his covers. Rising to his feet he begins to move forward with his new found freedom only to have it snagged away with a last ditch effort by the covers grasping at his ankle causing him to stumble to the bedroom door.
